About us

Winter & Wonder is a small online shop run from Assendelft, in the Netherlands. We sell winter accessories, baby blankets and throws made from natural fibres only: baby alpaca, merino, felted wool and cotton. No acrylic, no polyester.

Why natural fibres

Wool and alpaca keep you warm because they breathe. They move moisture away from your skin and keep insulating even when damp, where synthetic fleece traps sweat and goes cold. Alpaca is lighter than sheep's wool and has no lanolin, so it suits sensitive skin. Felt is wool pressed so densely that wind can't get through. These fibres also last: look after them and they will see you through many winters.

Who makes our products

Felted wool mittens, earmuffs, tube scarves and triangle shawls are handmade by small workshops in Estonia.
Felt boots are made in Estonia in the Norwegian lobben tradition.
Baby alpaca scarves, hats and headbands use fibre from the Peruvian highlands and are designed in Estonia.
Merino baby blankets, gift sets and children's balaclavas are knitted in Estonia from fine, Oeko-Tex certified merino yarn.
Wool and cotton throws are knitted in the Baltics from Woolmark and Oeko-Tex certified yarn.
